Case Study:

Leadersearch worked with a small oil and gas company of seven people providing team development coaching as the team formed and subsequently built a solidly functioning unit. We are proud of the strong relationship we built with every member of the team and the depth of the necessary conversations we were a part of facilitating. You will see below the story directly from the CEO:

I have been involved from a business perspective with Bob Johnson and Leadersearch starting at least ten years ago. As President of a former company, which I founded in 1980, we were a small group of people and evolved to a 100-man company over a 20-year period prior to selling the company. As we reached approximately 50 people, the dynamics of the company and management skills of key technical people needed to be improved, coached, and dealt with. With the Leadersearch team, we were able to help coach very focused technical managers into leaders, some with more success than others however, without the involvement of Leadersearch, a fast growing company would have been hopeless on the people front.

Over the past two years our new company has initiated a small 7-man team of which 6, including myself, are technical with one young, multi-functional, clerical person. The technical team is very experienced – some have had coaching and management leadership training in my previous company and others have had none. The interesting thing is that despite lower than expected results from an industry and market standpoint (on corporate performance) - with the last year having been very stressful on all the key team members – the team itself has remained together and supportive of each other.

Over the past six months, Bob Johnson at Leadersearch has been involved personally with assessment of the team. Most recently Bob conducted a team building session after having spent time with each of the individuals. Without exception, all individuals were very positive and totally committed to the team and the “go forward” process. The team building session helped us realize that corporately, we are now in a position where we can make a difference. The Company is “set up” and it will require a team to pull together and make it happen. We have used Bob’s abilities to help us see this and acknowledge it.

In summary, once again in a very small team with stress on the personal and business side, we have a very clear expression of cohesiveness within a short time period after a team coaching session. The value of something like this cannot be measured, as one weak link in a small team would ruin the team. I would not hesitate to recommend Bob Johnson and his team at Leadersearch to others in small or mid-size organizations.
